Within
the first year of the Christian Ministry degree, we are encouraged to explore our
own understanding of how we have come to do this degree. Why not do an applied
social science degree or any other modular studies degree? The major difference
is that we each are discovering and searching for our uniqueness, who we are.
This began for us at the time when God called us into life to become who we are
made in Gods’ own image and much more we are called to become. This is our
common belief and one that dares us to take risks. In this we make personal
choices and learn how to be more responsible for our own decisions.
We learn how to take responsibility and be accountable for what we do. Most importantly we painfully learn how to let go of people who have put us down made us out to be something we are not and in doing this we learn to move towards accepting ourselves. We learn how to recognise through listening to others our own abilities and go on to develop confidence within these skills. In growing in confidence we learn how to journey with perseverance the quest for inner wisdom. Some of the ways we engaged in this search included:
