Throughout the Christian Ministry degree program, it is necessary to complete several placements, both ongoing and block. To complete the course and graduate with a degree in Christian Ministry, rather than Christian Studies, these placements must be supervised and records are kept of aims and objectives which are planned with both placement supervisors and course tutors. When the placement is over, a review is completed with placement supervisors and recorded in a personal file.
Ongoing placements are usually spread through the year and total 40 hours. Block placements are completed between the end of one academic year and the next (in normal circumstances.) These placements are equivalent to four weeks of full time work, but can be longer, and are often more beneficial if they are.
Placements have included hospital chaplaincy work, shadowing ministers and professional Christian workers, work within Christian journalism and spending time within a Christian community.
